I have never seen the need for a front L/S. I have been in snow deep enough and loaded where I bent the front axle housing. With a 1,000 pounds of Cummins over the front axle traction is not a problem. Bending and breaking parts is.
Remember L/S in a front axle will act like a back axle with L/S. It will follow any incline in the event of wheel spin. A non L/S axle doesn't.
