Sore doesn't begin to describe how I feel this morning...laid 8 square of shingles before lunch yesterday and then poured and finished 5 yards of concrete after lunch.

What up, gentlemen?

I'm still alive and I still have to notify my partner that I'm Ford positive so she doesn't catch anything

I'm about to graduate from Purdue and next week I start a real job. I rolled 250k miles in the 7.3L and I'm still trying to talk myself out of a 12v swap.

Glad to see most of the regulars are still here.

Or you could just do a 12v swap, and then be able to hang out here again.

That's good to hear you'll have work. I have 2 weeks left of my schooling this stint, and registration opens up on May 16th for next years courses, so I'll try to get 4th year dealt with in September. Then I'll have my 4 tickets, and it should be easier to find something decent (or do something on my own possibly)

I'm all achy tonight. Cut trees for firewood at the old mans this morning and then trimmed my apple tree. I borrowed the neighbors 40ft aluminum ladder and the damn thing about killed me! :? Then I mowed the lawn, that new-to-me Deere sure cuts like a banshee, sounds like one too.

I just picked up a allis chalmers 66 54" 3 point tiller in trade. Problem is I can't find any info on who really made it or where to get parts. Any help would be great.

Yeah the leaving problems were rather amusing. It was fun being able to say we told him so, so soon after he got it. It did do a good job of affirming my dislike for tinted front windows though

Do the water pump while its out anyway. Did you replace the tensioner? Is it the mechanical style? Ive seen a couple of them lose tension for no apparent reason.

It is the mechanical style....not real fond of those. the water pump spins fine. I think the belt just snapped just because. It looks like it's old but I know it only had 40-45k on it. it was a clean break so I'm assuming the tensioner didn't loosen up. Either way I'm going to be replacing at least 4 valves. I have the transmission off of it and am going to wash it up and put axle seals in it and then replace the water pump in the spare engine and start swapping over to it. hopefully by the end of the week I can be back up and running. I'm getting burnt out on these 2.0s lol.

Mechanical tensioner is 10x easier out of the car lol. I much prefer the hydro tensioner myself. I can do those in my sleep.

Farmboy wrote:Ok... Brakes... They are currently defeating me.

Symptoms:
first time you put your foot on the brakes the pedal goes straight to the floor. Pump it 2 to 3 times more and you can get a decent pedal, not good but decent. leave your foot there and the pedal slowly but steadily goes to the floor, bleeding off like there is a hole in the line.

absolutely no fluid making it to the ground anywhere.

So I started off by replacing the master cylinder. No change

Next.. bypassed the ABS valve on the rear frame including a new line from the proportioning valve in the front to the rear axle. NO CHANGE!

All new brakes were installed in the back when I swapped in the dually axle. And a new right front caliper was installed a few months ago when i snapped off a bleeder trying to resolve this issue the first time.

Only thing not new is the left front caliper...

Any suggestions?!?!?!?

So Just an FYI... 1000 clicks on the rear self adjusters did the trick.. apparently the rear shoes have to actually make contact with the drums if you want to have a firm pedal... lol :bh:

It really does explain why it kept getting worse and worse all winter. Lol. Everything is new it the drums a year ago. I must never hit the brakes while in reverse or something.
