Yup, rust is a pain. I bought my 92 and 93 cheap due to rust issues. I know how hard rust resto is and knew the time and money needed for redo would be in the thousands. The guy wanted big money for the 92 and I was pretty rough on him about the price. I paid less then half what he wanted. He had the truck for a couple years and paid 5500 for it. I told him he got robbed. I said " pick up the floor mats and you can see the ground buddy, she ain't mint"
My 89 was expensive. I had to go to the bank for that one back in 1998. It was mint, no winter miles since new and 90 k miles. Still no winter miles on that one since new, but has managed to shake all the factory paint off in big flakes as they all did. That one is still in the 125 k miles range.
O and since I have owned the 92 and 93 they never see salt roads either. They sleep during the winter.
