So I began the process of installing new pads/shoes today. The origonal intention was to put new axle seals in and pad slap the thing........but I ran into a lot of issues.
I found out I need new drums. This being said, I found the drums identical to mine on Napa's site, but when the guy showed me all of what they had there were none like mine? I've got the big/bulky drum (factory?) with a taper-down on the wheel side. All the drums for the Dana 70 the guy showed me were flat/had no taper. I'd imagine the taper is there only to house the inner/outer bearings/seals etc?
Wheel cyl on one side is done, so I got 2 of the 7/8''. I do know the 250 has a 7/8'' wheel cyl and the 1 ton has the 1''. I heard there is a 1 1/8'' too. Will either of the bigger cyl work as a straight replacement?
Finally, Being on a budget I got the $9 SKF bearings instead of the $24 bearings (inner/outer x2)....... Are they decent or was it a mistake?
Thanks everyone
