Hello Everyone! Looking to Get my first 1st Gen

Postby zhulkk » Fri Jun 10, 2016 10:40 am

I have been searching the area for a 1st Gen and found a few on craigslist. If anyone would like to take a look at them and give me their opinions I would appreciate it.

Thanks!

Heres the first one that has caught my eye
https://fargo.craigslist.org/cto/5613312458.html

Has higher mileage, so i am waiting to hear from the guy about what all has been done to the truck.

https://masoncity.craigslist.org/cto/5622851199.html

This one looks like a better candidate for me, lower miles and some body work to keep me busy.

What do ya'll think?

Or if anyone has found some better deals please let me know!

Thanks!

that one doesn't look to bad from the pictures....heck it looks like a "factory" tach is in it. that's worth about 500 bucks depending on who you talk to lol. I would look the rust over really good. I know if the cab mounts start to go the back of the cab will crack at the bottom.

That thing is a rot box. Since the rockers are gone, I'm betting the cab supports are on their way, and the back half of the frame is probably scaled up...

$4500 tops.

Yup, rust is a pain. I bought my 92 and 93 cheap due to rust issues. I know how hard rust resto is and knew the time and money needed for redo would be in the thousands. The guy wanted big money for the 92 and I was pretty rough on him about the price. I paid less then half what he wanted. He had the truck for a couple years and paid 5500 for it. I told him he got robbed. I said " pick up the floor mats and you can see the ground buddy, she ain't mint" My 89 was expensive. I had to go to the bank for that one back in 1998. It was mint, no winter miles since new and 90 k miles. Still no winter miles on that one since new, but has managed to shake all the factory paint off in big flakes as they all did. That one is still in the 125 k miles range.

O and since I have owned the 92 and 93 they never see salt roads either. They sleep during the winter. 8)
