fatty wrote:David, what was your mph on the recent runs compared to with the old setup? You showing any power gains there?

Found two of the three slips.

06/31/16, 7:43p
RT = .471
60' = 2.217 (All tires bouncing BIG-TIME out of the hole. Got off it a little, and on it again).
330' = 6.197
1/8 = 9.180
MPH = 83.84

06/31/16, 8:45p
R/T = .278
60' = 1.781 (Better, but still shuddered hard. Still feathered the throttle a little).
330' = 5.321
1/8 = 8.352
MPH = 80.62

In both passes above, the trans slipped going into third (NEW issue). Again, had to back-off a little and let it catch, then hit it again.

My best at this track before its rebuild was 7.97 or so. The best avg was 8.05 @ 83 ~ 84 IIRC.

I wish I understood the physics behind drag racing a little better. How can you run .8 slower time but gain 3 mph?

Blowing off tires down low, with more power? Bogging things out down low (slow spool) and yet more power. Either way, things are slower right off the get go.

I can't remember the exact number, but 60' time makes a huge difference at the top of the eighth/quarter. For every tenth of a second you shave off your 60' you shave a bunch more off your et.

Those wheels look pretty nice. I'm interested to see how they look on the truck.

Those wheels are nice. I wonder how they'll look on my truck? And yeah, what Eric said! :evil:

Eric, my clock is right on, maybe in your user control panel adjust the time?

It's says you posted 8:51 on mine. Interestingly mine is doing the same thing.

Edit: I went through user cp, and it has a button for summer/dst, checked it, and all is well

The holes for the lugnuts in the new rims are too small for my current lugnuts. :roll:

I'll have a set come Monday.

Once again delayed in getting the truck back on the road . . . . and it be safe to drive.

All along, the current tires are very well worn. The former slop in the steering combined with me aggravating the alignment with me repairing the steering system, one of the front tires had its inner section worn well into the wires. Now its one of the "MayPop" variety.

Need new tires. Can't find a set of acceptable tires (31ish in dia, acceptable street tread design, and fit a 16x10 rim). Gotta up size the rim, which leads us to now. The truck's been only good for a risky weekly trip to the landfill.

The rim order was placed in early April IIRC. It's been like pulling teeth as they say since.
