Okay, I have an 84 shortbed gas truck with the 4 speed manual and the 225 slant 6. I picked it up in a package deal with a parts truck, thinking I would make something out of it. I've only owned Cummins trucks in the 89 to 93 range till now.
I have a few questions about the 84....
1. Theoretically, it's supposed to be a D100 and that's what's on the badges but almost everyplace I look that has a menu to select parts only lists a D150 when it for 1984. I haven't checked the title but I didn't think Dodge made the D150 till later, maybe 86 or 87? Not that it matters, I'm just curious.
2. I want to put some Mopar dog dish hub caps on the 84, so I kept a set from the 91 D-150 I parted out but they are way too big. A little searching tells me the bolt pattern changed on the 15" wheel from 5 x 4.5" in 1984 to 5 x 5" in 1985 so that makes sense. I can't find anything on the web to tell me what factory dog dishes came on this truck (maybe those with the small black circles on the other diameter?) or which/any of the old school dog dishes will fit that 5 x 4.5" wheel.
It appears that most of the full size cars had the 5 x 4.5" wheel but anything smaller had a 5 x 4" so the "red circle" 70's caps probably won't fit? That's what I'd like to put on there.
I'm sure somebody on here has a little gas truck from that same era and knows what fits, a little help here?
I just learned via LMC that the previously nice chrome front bumper that got twisted in transit is an 83 to 85 only, grrr. So the wheels changed bolt pattern in 1985 but the bumper carried on for a year. Hopefully hub caps are a little easier to cross over.
Thanks
Joe
