No power to power window or locks on crew cab

Postby Collers9640 » Fri Aug 26, 2016 2:00 pm

I recently pick up a clean 1984 D350 Crew Cab short bed Prospector III for $1800... Ha I figure I'd make a few people jealous...
Anyway I can't get the power windows or locks to work. The fuses are good and I have power at the fuse box but I have no power at the switch on either door. Does anyone know where the relay for the power locks and power window are located particular does anyone know where the relays are on an 84' or have a pictures.
Lastly does anyone know of some common problems I should check?

Check the electrical connection where the door hinges, sometime the wire breaks from opening and closing the door often. I don't think there is a relay its either a circuit breaker or just a fuse.

Yeah check the fuse panel for the power window/lock position. Most likely it's a larger tin circuit breaker style unit. Check to make sure the power is actually passing through the fuse/circuit breaker.

Tin style fuse is good, I'm gonna start ohms out wires and tracing the circuit

If you pull the main connector from the back of the power window switch, do you have power coming in to any of the small round female pins? If the switch is bad you can get power into the switch, but no power out of the switch either.
