You'll want an upgraded lift pump. I use our piston lift pump upgrade on all builds we put together.
89 RC on shortened 92 diesel frame - NV4500 w/dual disc/4.10s on 37s. - Self built pump, "hot screw", lots of timing, True high volume low pressure lift pump, 62fmw/68/.7gated, 77lpm SAC Inj., Studs/O-rings,- 423/1220 Mustang - 11/16/2013 http://www.TheHungryDiesel.com full line dealer, if you don't see it please ask.

Everything even fits , with the hood on...

I have the original steel / flat hood
I may put back on ( gray primer color)

Image

Bill helped put the front clip on
Not heavy> just flimsy

Then I realized a mistake
the engine is set back 16", instead of 12" I had thought

I should say the transmission mount is set back 16" from the original location.
I used the trans mount to locate the eng/trans front to back

Bill also says I have a loose wire> putting a Cummins in the Satellite
as he points to the Block heater plug, hangin off the front of the grill LOL

It fits well in there. I'd run a 3.07 or similar rear gear and let the torque carry you off the line. Your going to run out of power with a deep gear and the 272

fourth run
finally figured out the lights
and how deep to stage

Now That I got a base # to work with

Image

Time to crank it up...lol

pulled the Dana
put a 8 3/4 with a 3.55 in Temporary
went to the track again
still only made 3/4 track before running out of steam
last Friday night
Image

first 2 passes, I don't know what I was thinking
only let engine get to 160* > used to the Dart on E-85
next 3 passes got temp to 180*

Tuesday night
using a blue holly pump, turned up to 10psi
removed the power screw collar, turn screw in
installed 3800 gov spring
bumped the pump another 1/8 toward the head, plus has skipped a tooth

Image

results > looks like to much timing
slower 60ft and ET
MPH was better due to 3800 spring

interesting 2 passes
Friday night on the left
Tuesday night on the right

Image

Next is back the timing back to where it was.
set up gears for the Dana and re-install

Sit next to the mail box> waiting on a HE351CW turbo to fall off the UPS truck

also looking for some 5 x 12 injectors
and saving my pennies for a modified injection pump> more flow

Looking good. What gears are you going with?

being I only run 1/8 mile
3.73 see how they do>also have a 3.54 set

the Tuesday night passes engine really started to pull hard, but finish line came up...

will be a few weeks before I run it again
first install turbo
while doing that install 60 lbs springs, and 5 x 12 injectors

right now trying to find info>>

If I should locate 10* keepers and retainers, since I've already installed the 3800 spring

My "Gasser" brain says YES

Looks like a lot of fun.

Airbox is probably a choke point, AFE makes one hell of a dry filter.
