I like it.

Wonder how many pistons that one boat needed after that run?

I don't know. I bet his egt was pretty high. I saw this video today and had to share it. I have been to several lobster boat races over the years to watch. They have them in 10 or so different harbors up and down the coast every year. Some of the big diesel boats are over 1000 hp. You can spend over a hundred grand real easy for big boy power like that. They have gas engine classes too and there are 2 or 3 with blown 632 merlin big block chevy's. They are getting about 70 mph. The guy in the video made me crack up. He says " Holy Sh!t " I hear boats all the time that have huge power and you swear a Vietnam era Huey was landing.

With that much fuel, he might have sled-puller in-cylinder cooling. :o

A few years back a guy about my age from the next harbor over had a 385 fast burn small block chevy in a 28 foot T Jason lobster boat and it was straight piped. If I was on the pier I could hear him across the bay but couldn't see him. He would just rev that thing5 to 6 grand steaming around. I know one engine he had lasted 1 month before he burned it up. Another buddy I had in school played with 460 fords in his boat. His last one he had before he drowned was a 521 cid ford. He went in the water one day in the harbor and never made it back up.

Proof positive the "redneck" thing is not exclusive to rural southerners. Trucks, tractors, boats, whatever you get two of them in the same place one of us is going to the tell the other his stuff is weak and slow. Been happening for the past 150 years

Yup, I saw that a few years back. 2 brothers running a boat. Me and my wife run ours. We make a good team. :D

Someone took this picture just as I was backing up to tow this boat out of the harbor. It was adrift and they guy bailed out into the water right when I got there. He had just got back in the harbor when a gas leak caused it to explode. Its a wonder he didn't die. His son and grandson had just stepped into the dinghy that was tied to the back when it blew.

I towed it out to sea incase it sank. Didn't want it sinking in the harbor.

Mercedes 606 in that boat. Here's another video. Looks like it has so much thrust it pushes the boat out of the water enough to get it skipping.

Yup, we didn't get hit to hard here. Just south and north of me got 20 plus inches but we got like 16 to 17 with wind and drifting. Some places 40 miles away got 40 inches.
