Torque Plate Renting

Postby Fnschlaud4620 » Sun Mar 16, 2008 7:00 pm

As many of you may know I have made a torque plate for use with any 12v 5.9 Cummins 12mm or 14mm studs.

I have a lot of time and some money into making it but I want to share this tool with my favorite forum community who accepts me the same even though I have a GMC truck. Thank You

I am not looking to make a lot of money on the use of the plate but I would like to recover my cost. So I am planning on a charge for use. Also I want to protect the plate from damages that my occur form other users so I will charge a fully refundable deposit.

I have not set any prices yet and I will be reasonable. I think this will most likely be limited to MI, OH, IND, and ILL members unless shipping to and from is paid by the user.

I will have it ready for others to use by mid May, I hope to be done with it by then.

Let me know if there is any interest, opinions or ideas.

Pm me if interested for use.

Thanks 1st gen

I'm lost. What is a torque plate in this context? I've heard of them for P7100 pumps, but they are actually a full load stop plate. :?

The torque plate is used when boring or honing the block. Its purpose is to replicate the cylinder head torque load while allowing access for a honing machine.

These blocks move alot, when they are at rest without a head the bores are out of round. If you hone with the block without it being pulled into shape you may not end up with round bores.

Also, being I added headstuds they can pull the bores into hexagons and ring seal will be poor.

Here is an old picture, I will have a new pic when its finished, I am close.

I am not really interested in making another one. I think you could probably have one made cheaper out there because then you would not have to pay for shipping.
