You know Pete, over-torquing makes sense to me. The torque spec in the book for the gear is very low, something measured in inch-pounds, which is weird for a nut that size.
I dropped mine from maybe two feet up, I didn't think I cracked it at the time, until I noticed it was cracked all the way through a few days latter.
Probably safe to say that nobody has ever heard of catastrophic timing gear failure?
A few guys have PM'd me, I'll be buying one this week.
