Back to what I was doing when it showed it's @ss.
My injectors are big enough that at WOT, they draw enough fuel volume that the case-pressure is dropping thus retarding the injection event timing while at WOT.
I've been running a simple Walbro-392 through an Aeromotive bypass-type pressure regulator set for 18ish psig. At WOT, that feed-pressure drops to 16ish psig.

Actually, the lift-pump feed pressure dropping is indicative of the case-pressure dropping. It's that case-pressure that powers the timing advance mechanism. IIRC, the case-pressure drops . . . 100psig ? I can't remember atm. I've got data-logger stuff somewhere that clearly shows what's going on with the case-pressure.
Keep the lift-pump supply pressure constant, then deal with the vane-pump, etc inside the IP.

Guess I should hook up the pressure line to the boost referenced regulator that's on my truck then.

I need to rephrase what I said above. I can't properly address the case-pressure dropping until I can provide the IP with a solid supply. How about that?
I've not done the boost reference line yet. My regulator is maxed to get 20psig.
Remps wrote:That looks sweet, should definitely take care of the 2 psi drop. My guess is it won't affect case pressure a whole lot though. Ellis, aren't you running a 7 hole injector? I thought those didn't make very good horsepower, due to poor penetration at higher rpm/boost. I could be completely wrong, but I think if you pop pressure was 4-500 psi higher one could get better penetration with a 7 hole nozzle and a ve pump. With timing adjusted accordingly of course. K, enough sidetracking, sorry BC.
PToombs wrote:Dave, what are you running for an air filter? I have an Airaid dry type filter and it's not big enough. I would prefer to stick with a dry type, any suggestions?
Have you thought about putting on 1 of the Case breather valve covers?
