Rv and Split Rims

Postby 87Raider » Fri Apr 06, 2018 12:12 am

I am wanting to buy a 1972 Winnebago, but it has split rims and bad tires. I live in central Illinois and the RV is in Murfysboro Tenn. I may back out on it because of the cost. Give me your thoughts..

Single wheel or dually? Split rims aren't to bad if there in good shape. I've had a couple trucks with them on them, local tire shop had no issues messing with them, nor did the farm co-op.
If your set on changing to regular wheels, surf around the internet, Craigslist, Facebook buy/sell pages for somebody parting out a truck. Being a camper, no idea if other generations of truck rims will swap over like you can with these trucks, but a few minutes with a tape measure can answer that question

Well, both... They are on a 1972 Winnebago motorhome. I have not seen it except pictures and he said it has set in it same spot for 14 years. The tires had to be aired up a couple times but they hold air. I found some 16" on aluminum wheels, wheels look good but tires are fair for $600 . All 6 of them.
