I have 625’s in my 4th gen. They’re around $1200 a set though. I want to put 625’s in The Roo Hunter though.

One at a time method is remove 1 bolt, finger tight, then back off half a turnish the stud, lube threads, both sides of the washer, and bottom of the nut, install, torque to 100ft-lb, continue to next bolt, once all studs are in bring to final torque. I’m not 100% on the short ones final spec though, as all the 24v bolts are the same length.

Thanks for the in-depthness Dman. More often than not I need the drawing done in red crayon.

Im ignorant of studs. Other than being uber stout, why is the price so stratospherical?

Probably a similar reason as to why titanium is expensive. The metal isn’t just forged steel, and they don’t rust at all.

Ok that’s what I figured. Went to put the pump the rest of the way to the head and it seems pretty much bottomed in the slots already.

I notice on the 3 Studs holding the IP they seem to have a shoulder past the threads. When the IP is bottomed all the way against the studs, is there normally about 1/16” space between the threaded part of the stud you see and the edge of the IP slot?

Sounds about right. You might be able to squeak a little more, but not much.

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

Ok so for whatever reason, the last 1/16” the pump went before bottoming gave quite a noticeable jump in time. It actually has a little rattle on waste oil.

It pulls great on top. Even after over 1/4” of advance I still haven’t noticed any loss of bottom end like most seem too. Of course the snail lights slower, maybe a lot of people notice that most? And in my case with oil burning slower than diesel, I’m sure my combustion event is more similar to say an 1/8” bump on diesel.

There’s less smoke just about everywhere now compared to being at 3/16”. Got my non IC afc spring dialed and it’s a perfect haze to spool fairly decent.

40psi (and a lot of timing, that is a factor) had my head doing the worm. spit antifreeze out when I would get in it. Head had cracks between each valve seat because of it.
ARP's and a good Cummins replacement head, zero issues.
