The throttle response is quite different. Especially when you’re just tapping the pedal. The mechanical engines just can’t be beat in that regard. It took quite a few tweaks on my end to get the throttle response I have on my 4th gen. The response is one reason I run mine at maximum effort all the time.

It's been a busy year for us. With the new baby, new house I'm still working on, trying to race until I broke the truck and finishing up the excursion I haven't had much free time. The brown truck is parked and will be dismantled at some point. I don't think I'll do another half ton diesel. Probably end up building the other truck with a turbo 5.9 magnum.

Gah it’s killing me I haven’t stopped in for so long, what kind of VE owner am I?

Fatty, I run the waste oil as fuel because I can get it for free, so my only “fuel expense” is the gas I blend with it to get it close to viscosity of diesel fuel. Also, up till August my commute was 80 miles per day, 6 days a week. It wasnt uncommon for me to drop $50-$60 weekly in #2.

For oil cleansing, I blend oil & gas and fill 3 55 gallon drums with it. I pull the oil off the top of the drum that has sat the longest (usual rotation puts that at about 1 month set time per drum). The oil then goes through two .5 micron bag filters and then into the truck.

In regards to longevity, my local 1st gen bud has 435k on his ‘92 now, and has been running waste oil since 175k in 3 seasons of the year. His filtration is more relaxed than mine, and he finally replaced the original IP last year at around 405k miles. I credit this to the loose tolerances in these fuel systems compared to HEUI and CR. I wouldn’t touch any Pstroke or CR truck with this fuel, it would have to go through a centrifuge.

Since September of last year I calculated I’ve run through approximately 475 gallons of W80 (80% oil 20% gas), which ends up being about 380 gallons of oil.

I switched jobs in August, and am back with the roofing crowd. I’ve been on straight diesel for all of this month and it’s killing me!

Oh and we bought a house and my wife is baby crazed.

I’m to busy to come here often. I’ve been running close to 80 hours a week since the end of July with no end for at least another month. My 1st gen is still on the road, but my box is about to fall off. With a little luck I’m building a custom flatbed for it later this winter. I visit the Facebook groups even less than here.

I have a new GF so I don't have as much free time so I'm not here as much as I was. But I still check in a few times a week!
