Maybe put a fuel pressure guage on it and go for a ride. You might be starving for fuel on the WOT run, then it takes a minute to catch up when you stop.

That would be my guess too. I've seen 1500 briefly in two gears on my pyro and 1400 regularly, until diesel got so spendy now she's been detuned. Either way I've never had problem's like you are describing, but I'm still runnin stock sticks, so I wouldn't think it's the heat.

When your auto meter pyro comes back around to the "R" in pyrometer across the bottom you got it hot. 1500 for 15 sec is a good rule of thumb I hear. I've run 1650 for a about 14sec of my 15.30 runs with no problems.

Geno's Garage sells a banjo bolt for about $7 that's tapped for a 1/8th pipe fitting. Put it on the filter head on the line to the IP. Tie a gauge in there. You can drill and tap your own, but I don't recommend it. Those bolts are harder than the hubs of hell! I won't do it again, not for $7. ;)

okdoky i was sitin in a parkin lot taday after work and runnin hard waitin for her to cool down and it was stumblin, turned her off then went in side for about 15 min. and back out ta start she fired right up and smoked white and stumbled  until i got back on the road, then black :D so i ran nice and she hasnt done it yet, does that still sound like the lift pump?would goin to the 94 to 98 lift pump be better than the stock one and a gauge?

Lift pump or air leak. Need to get a guage in there so you can watch pressure. If it's air, pressure won't drop as much as starving for fuel.

Oh yeah! Piston pump is way better than the stocker. It's quite a bit more money too. Pump, line, spacer plate, 2 gaskets and new banjo washers are roughly $200.

$200 is also the price you can get a used A1000, or A1000 clone for.

But that's not including the regulator...

If you are getting a leak at the retainer nut for your injector then it doesn't need to be tightened more, the injector needs a new brass washer.I had the same problem with mine until i changed the washer.

RW, that's not an air leak, that's a compression leak. That won't affect how it runs, like the problems you're having. Like CC said, pull the injector, clean the bore and make sure the old washer comes out, then put in a new copper washer and torque it.
