FASS FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURES

Postby skilletky » Tue Dec 23, 2008 6:14 pm

i just ordered a fass fuel system from ats, i was talking to the them about how low you can adjuste the pressure on them and he said you can take them down to 16 psi with the truck off and pump running, my question is, will the front seal in the ip will be allright?

"A fass or airdog will work from a 98.5-02 24 valve pumps for these trucks are rated at 15psi i run my fass and have not blown the front seal yet" Quoted from Gary J. Westrope

That was quoted from someone over on CumminsForum, so if you can keep it around 16psi, the front seal should be fine. I think it's over 20psi that you should get pretty worried.

Yes bypass the LP and the factory fuel filter, that is if your new FASS has the filter setup on it.

thank you sir, and yes it is the filtered system. should i even bother with the coolant hook up on the pump? it dose not get all that cold here, although it is about 4 now and the low tonight is going to be -10. also, should i put the sending unit for the fuel pressure gauge at the gauge port on the fass pump or place it somewheres near the ip?
