I/C "horns" forward, OK?

Postby ontos » Tue Feb 17, 2009 5:05 pm

This is on a 89 non I/C 1stgen in a front engine Motorhome on a freightliner chassis.

Have 1stGen I/C to install. No way to get by the radiator on the sides. Easy to go over the top if the horns are facing forward. I did sleep through physics class, but it dosen't seem to be a problem to do it that way. A few elbows and done.

Thought I better check with some smart people before I go ahead, Thanks any info or opinions.

PS: I could have just asked Pete Toombs but I owe him a bunch of beer already.

the way you have it plumbed doesnt matter as long as it connects the turbo to IC to the intake, with as little of a restriction as possible.

You'll need a forward facing intake horn. Or build it to suit;). The 91.5-93 intercooled 1st gen horn will only point left or right, not forward or back.

My existing non I/C intake has a simple stub comming up and I should be able to use the same connection used for the crossover pipe, when I get that far.

Now I'm trying to locate 90* elbows that will take me up and over the I/C I have.

Thanks.
