Yes, I used some vaseline to make sure they would not move and the IP was facing down so I could see where everything was going so I believe that part is right.

I'm starting to think that the pump is not building enough pressure for the injectors, what can cause this?

If the camplate was out maybe you got it 180 deg out of time. That will cause the issue you have. I knew somebody in Texas one time that did that very thing. The only way you can have low pressure is if the pump head is worn out. Since it was starting and running fine beofre th reseal iy should still be fine. You said when you were cranking it it was spurting fuel at the injectors right? Have you tried hitting it with some ether to get it started? If there is fuel in there it will rattle an knock. No fuel and it will run smooth on the ether. Then you would know for sure if it was a timing or fueling issue..

Well then it is timing. I used a little sf and it wont run smooth, it will rattle for a few seconds and die. When I crank it just with diesel it will puff a little smoke at the end.

I can't take it to a shop, how can I put it as close as possible to the right timing?

Is it possible to jump a tooth on the IP gear with out pulling the front cover? I say this bc I had to turn the engine by hand to re-align the keyway and gear slot at one point.

Thank You.

On some engines it is possible to jump the gear a tooth without taking the cover off. You can take all the bolts out of the cover that you can get to and pry it out away from the timing case. You should be able to get close to a 1" gap doing that, and that should be enough with a good flashlight to see if the correct timing letter on the pump gear and the mark on the cam gear are lined up or not. If they aren't you found your problem. If they are you got the camplate in the pump 180 out,

Well it is fixed and now the engine is just purrring.

I removed the IP for the 4th time and take it to My local (1hr away) bosch shop.
I did check and I don't think I can jump a tooth with out removing the front cover, but I could be wrong.

Turns out there is a spacer thing in the T looking thing on the high pressure head and this is locked in position with the lever pushed by the full fuel screw so I didn't do this part and bc of that it would not start and luckily bc the guy said if it would have broke the lever and that cost $341
Everything else was just fine.

Thank You.
