Also, if you are going to use it solely as a tow rig, and want to keep an auto tranny, you may want to look into a 47RH, from the '94-'95 2nd Gen trucks. The addition of a lockup converter will really help with towing, and there is a lot of aftermarket support for that tranny. For either tranny, Dave Goerend is the guy you want to go to though.
