Injectors for 1993 Cummins 12V

Postby Bad93Cummins » Fri Apr 10, 2009 1:05 pm

Im thinking of getting these injectors for $300 they make about 120 HP and they're for 94-98 and getting sleaves to make them fit(just not sure how much or where to get sleaves) or get 4"straight pipe for $295 shipped.

Also will those injectors hurt my old motor? Has new injection pump and another pump had been replaced on the motor can't remember what is was called. Motor starts right up no problem and runs great just wanting alittle more power out of it, alittle smoke and not to hurt my mpg's to bad, getting about 16-18mpg.

Thanks

You can not run 94-98 injectors on a 1st gen they have different pop pressure.

Pop pressure is the least of the worries. Bodies are different, and spray angles are not the same.

Unless you have a 4x4 club cab dually with an auto, you should be doing better than 16-18mpg, unless that's ALL in town. Mine will get 18hwy, but has significant wear in the pump H&R and cam plate.

Do a search on here, plenty of info on injectors. New Era and Coal Train are two that come to mind for 1stGen preformance injectors. Unless you use your new power all the time, it shouldnt hurt your mileage. May even improve it, depending on what shape your stockers are in now.

So then ill probley get the 4" straight pipe and 3200 spring first then injectors then cold air intake.

The 4" straight pipe(3" off turbo, then 4" from firewall back with all new hangers an all) for $295 shipped and the spring is only $29.99 from http://dieseldawgs.com/product_info.php ... ts_id=1940

Then ill buy injectors then save up for the cold air intake( http://www.pdrdiesel.com/products/ASA_M ... 04-37.html )

then that should be about all the modding ill do to the ol cummins there and start saving up and get the tranny reubilt later on and maybe the motor later down the road.

BTW here's a set of injectors a feller off chuckstrucks.net said are real good.

check out http://www.stans-headers.com/ for exhaust, they make a real good 4" turbo back kit. On injectors, you need to make sure they are for a 91-93 cummins specifically, not for all years of 12valve.
Sold 91 now-intercooled W250, 388WHP 923WTQ on #2 only 423WHP 968WTQ on meth 0% correction.

I thought about them but just can't afford them plus I think 4" straight pipe for less then $300 with all new hangers and exhuast is worth it.

10-4.

Thanks for all the help.

5 inch wont fit on a 1st gen without doing some serious work to the firewall.......

get Stan's 4 inch downpipe and build a 5 inch kit for your truck.......

I'm running that exhaust and I like it alot.

And I'm not sure I would listen to anyone off Chuckstrucks for any kinda logical advice.

Bad93, the injectors that you linked to are an overpriced set of POD's. You can buy them new for less than $400 or used for $300-ish. Try PDR or Pure Diesel Power for the injectors.[/url]
