I'm going to start my aeromotive a-1000 fuel system as soon as parts get here. I got the 13204 regulator also. I've read up on it as much as i can but still want see what you guys running it think. What size lines? Where do you mount the pump? Close to the tank and below it? How about the regulator? My plan is to run 5/8 from tank to pump, 1/2 in from pump to regulator, and 3/8 from reg to VE per Bgilberts setup. That's about all i have figured out so let me know what I'm missing and what I'm wrong about. By the way i know I dont need this much pump for the setup I have but my stock pump is on the way out and I'm planning on going big as money allows. I'm planning on around 4-500 horse for a daily driver/ drag racer. Not trying to be too original or break any records, just want to follow the proven path to a fast 1st gen. Thanks in advance.
I'm usin #12 line from tank to a moroso inline filter, then #12 from filter to pump, #10 line from pump to K-wopper fuel and water filters, #8 line to the regulator, 6 return, #6 to the IP,
Thanks seeker, where could i find a filter head and filter for after the reg? 10 micron enough or do i need a 2 micron? KTA, why do you run your filter after the regulator?
I got it finished finally, not going to be a real writeup but I'll try to give a little info.
I took the bed off to do it and I would recommend doing that if you're doing a fuel system. If you have a nice John Deere loader tractor around that is:cool:.
I ran a 5/8 line from the Hellman sump to the A-1000.
I also put the Aeromotive 100 micron inline filter just before the pump and then ran a 1/2 in line from the pump to the filter, and continued with a 1/2 in line to the regulator.
The regulator is an Aeromotive 13204, adjustable from 3-15psi and capable of boost referencing. I'm going to hold off on the boost referencing until I get a built pump and big sticks. From the regulator I ran a 3/8 in line to the VE and a 1/2 return line back to the tank. Fatty built me a mounting bracket.
For the return I used a fitting that was left over from my brothers Airdog kit. It was for the drawstraw but he went with a sump also.
Although I didn't really do this mod to get me more power( it was more to be able to support lots of power) I did notice it is way stronger on the top end. Also a little more boost and higher egts.
