Summit Cab Visor

Postby slingshot » Mon Aug 03, 2009 9:20 am

Does anyone have , or know someone who has, a Summit cab visor on their truck? I just got some pictures from Summit, of the visor, and it looks ok, but i would like to see one on the truck.
I wanted the Lund visor, but Summit no longer sells the Lund visor. My family all got me gift certificates at Summit to get a Lund visor, but by the time I got them, they no longer have them. So I might get the Summit brand visor, if I could see one it would sure help me out. Thanks

Here is my truck I am not sure what brand it is but here it is anyway. I will tell you that the air flow sucks with this thing. While going down the road if you try to spray your windshield with washer fluid it sprays forward insead of on the windshield because of the bad air flow. The air just makes a big loop on your hood

that must be your bug deflector doing all that stuff with the washer fluid. cause my truck has no problems at all with thw fuid and i have the same visor as you. only thing i do not like about it is when its parked the rain or dew drops from the visor on the windshield and if you do rainx it takes that stuff off three times as fast. usually the whole window will still bead water 3-4 weeks after the application and in the spots where it drips its maybe 1-2 weeks.

If you put a visor on make sure you check the screws once or twice a year, they get loose from the vibration. I had a Lund on my 91 S10. I loved it.

Well, after all of that, I decided to order the one from Summit, but when I went to place the order, they dont sell one for an extended cab, only regular cab. That was alot of time and research wasted.

I would bet money that that part of the roof is EXACTLY the same as a reg cab.

Well, I have looked at the two, and the roofs are different, the regular cab roof is taller at the drip rail.

I will have to compare my 89 to the 93. I had never noticed a difference but then again I had no reason to look.

no richie, they are different. in 81, the reg cabs got a squared off from edge. the crews and x-cabs used the same rounded front edge as they 72-80 trucks.
