There are a few that are trying...now controller available at this time, so you have to dream up your own. I've been hearing bad things about the vanes getting sooted up on them though.

I put one on my truck and I like it,I have not came up with a way to control the vanes yet so it is in the full open position all the time,it spools a little slow but when it lights it pulls hard
here are some pics

c12h26 ;

how slow is the spool up ? do you have something you can compare it too ? ( like maybe the stock turbo / stock housing ) .

i've got one of those turbo's too , i was thinking of limiting the movement of the vanes so it wouldn't close down too tight ( to keep the turbo from overspooling ) , then using something like a regular waste gate actuator to move the lever .... ( i'm thinking of something much much larger in diameter than a regular waste gate actuator , so it will be much more sensitve to pressure changes )

then maybe add a external waste gate that would kill the exhaust pressure at lets say 40 psi

btw has anyone thought of using exhaust back pressure to control the vanes of one of these turbo's ?

I also am planning installing one of these turbos. I see you have the actuator exposed, and no coolant running through it. Have you manually moved the lever with the engine running? What were the results? How does the turbo sound?
I was also considering a back pressure based control with a manually adjusted travel limiter. If anyone gets one/has one of these working with some control, please post! I have one, but the truck is so far apart right now that it will be months before I get to try it.
The compressor wheel in this turbo looks real nice, Im sure it is capable of some good power.

O.K. I made the turbo fit the manifold today. It was a lot of screwing around, but it is a nice clean look.
First step was to drill the 4 mounting holes on the turbine inlet, so I could tap them to 1/4" pipe.
Second step was to install pipe plugs in these holes( I used the plugs with the four sided extension, than cut off the extention, so I had a complete surface for machining)
Third step was to mill the entire flange flush so I had a nice fresh surface to work with.
Next, I drilled and tapped holes in the fresh surface in the "T3" pattern, using a 3/8"coarse tap.
I installed 4 studs in the turbine, than went to work on the manifold.
If you look at the stock manifold, you will notice that the upper side would work with the new studed turbine(if drilled to the correct size), but the lower part of the flange has blind holes. My manifold just needed that "extra" material behind the flange removed to install the new turbine with studs, and there is JUST enough room to get the nuts in there now.
Now that that's done, it's time for the down pipe and cold side plumbing....

Any more done on these installs? I have one now too but am not sure that it will work very well with stock injectors, any thoughts?
