- Put the stock/OEM fuel pin back in.
- Install known high quality injectors in (like the PDR 190 injectors or the like that provide better atomization of the fuel compared to stock).
- Tighten the Starwheel so as to give minimal fueling short of interfering with adequate power.
- Run the smoke screw all the way out.
- Back out the main fuel screw to just before the point the truck can't get past it's own shadow.
- Use the EGT guage to keep the EGTs as low as possible (by light foot application)

* The AFC (automatic fuel control) is made up by the fuel pin, starwheel and smoke screw components.

If you don't care about power, do what BC said.
I myself wouldn't be so radical at 1st. Back out the smoke screw, turn the star wheel up, and watch your right foot. Keep it at or under 65mph and step on it easy. Your 4.10's are killing you if you're blasting on the highway at 70 or 75.
Then change the fuel pin out, etc., if you're not happy with it.

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

I can stretch 18mpg on my 93 with a rag and 4.10's on a trip. It has 6x16's and a m+h fuel pin. Like Pete says easy on the go pedal is how I do it. I have not even bumped the timing yet either.

Got any fuel leaks?

My truck is leaking fuel at the fuel heater and the AFC pin, and needless to say, I've seen a dramatic reduction in fuel economy.

Plus this is winter time. Between cold starts and high idle times, you're not going to see optimal idle times this time of year. It may even have something to do with the fuel mixture they use in the winter.

Those items alone would not contribute to lower MPGs. :?

Cruise egt? Max boost? Maybe you have a small boost leak. Should be able to go 50 mph and stay under 600 F for better mileage. (Depends on elevation a bit) Or maybe the brakes are dragging?Oh and check out the Bully Dog pin for gouging. If it is grooved throw it out, grind your own,and maybe turn the fuel screw up and adjust the idle. I always got better mileage with the pump turned up.What kind of 80 hp injectors?
