I have my full power screw bottomed out, I was wondering why some can bottom out before run away and some cant. What is the difference on the pumps. Will inlet fuel pressure change where run away is?

on the 89 i cranked it down and backed it off a 1/4 turn it tried running away. i backed it off anothe 1/4 and it runs fine. so mine is 1/2 turn from bottom. i was also wondering about this i have heard of guys running them bottomed out and others having to back the screw out as much as a full turn or more

Mine was allready turned in a little, i tried to go more, but it started to run. Its not even close to all the way in, theres probably almost a 1/4" of threads still showing behind the jam nut.

Was it running away or raising the idle speed?

I know I can put an 1/8" tack on the end of the screw and get some more out of it but am wondering what the difference is on the inside of the pump, what adjustments can be made there if any.

I turned mine in all the way with no signs of runaway. I ran it like that for about 2 months. Removed the screw, welded about 3/16 to the end of it, and ground it smooth. Then I cranked the screw in looking for signs of runaway. Once I started getting the hanging after a throttle snap I backed it out til it quit. There was quite abit more power found.

Where its set now, (1/4" of threads showing) the idle is sticky, if i go any more it RUNS AWAY!!!

Do you guys show no problems of seals leaking, or orings leaking? I have heard turnign the pumps up alot with out injectors to relieve some of the pressures would lead to injector pump problems...any truth to this???

I dont have any leaks at the inj pump, Im not sure that turning the pump up would cause a leak but I do know at least in my case its hard on the inj pump from only having the stock lift pump, I really need to get that dealt with.
