i have a 1990 dodge w250 5in stacks turned fuel screw one turn gauges on way but i cant get my idle speed to stay the same when adding more fuel any fixes with out sending it to be put on pump stand?

ummm...turn down your idle screw? that's a good fix. sorta hard to get to but it'll fix your idle problem.

If you have a dremel tool or something similar it makes it a lot easier

the only problem is when i look at the idle screw there is a gap and it doesnt look like its going to go away

i think i had the same problem. i had to shim the pin where the two springs ride on (the pin is wore plum out) after i done this it let the idle spring release tension and would idle down.

i guess im not sure what pin your talking about is it actually down in the pump?

On top. There are 2 throttle levers with a spring between them. It's an over load device, if the throttle goes too far, it won't over load the pump shaft. 1 lever is hooked to the throttle, the spring connects the 2 and the 2nd one drives the pump shaft. The pins the spring rides on wear, letting things get loose. The spring wears too.
Just look at the lever on the pump, and turn it, you will see what we are talking about. ;)

thanks for all the help it worked!!!
1990 Dodge W250 5 inch stacks no muffler, Star wheel bottomed out, Smoke screw turned all the way, Fuel screw maxed, Denny T Fuel Pin, 2inch lift with 33x12.50 and alot more to come shooting for 450 horsepower any suggestions?
