guide pin

Postby stock91w350 » Mon Jan 25, 2010 12:44 pm

well ive tried everything , small screw driver, small magnet and i even took a littl alan wrench and bent the tip and stuck it the afc to the guide pin hole and tried to free the guide pin but nothing worked, the tip of the alan wrench went into the guide pin hole but not far before it snubbed up on what im guessing was the pin, is it possible that there is no guidpin at all? could the last owner have takin it out for some kind of performance upgrade? i colord the fuel pin with a sharpie to see if there would be any marks and it kinda looked like there was but it also could of been just where the wd40 i used ran down and made it look like a ware mark. mite be time for me to take it to the diesel shop and drain my wallet

You don't need to pull the lid off but you will need to pull the throttle lever assy. off. On the throttle side of the AFC hsg. you will see a Allen headed plug take that out and push in with your Allen wrench and it will free up the pin. best thing to do would be to pull the top cover and reseal it. No o-rings, just a soft metal washer on the plug. There is one o-ring that seals in the guide pin, but you have to R&R the pump top to access it.
