1stgen's pulling at Wahoo NE

Postby pulltilbroke » Sun Aug 01, 2010 2:30 am

Well, Made my 1st hooks of the year last night and was very pleased with how my old Pile of junk ran. This was the 1st hook with the "big" governor spring and holy crap did it make a difference, I also made a few other small changes that helped the performance dramaticly. I finished 5th in both classes

stillsmokin, captainchrysler and Travis Bennet were also pulling in the class I was in. Travis seemed to be having tranny troubles but Jeff and Curt ran well also. I liked how tightly we were grouped in each class. In the light class me Jeff and Curt were all within about 10ft of each other and in the heavy class were within 4ft of each other.

We got video of all of our hooks except Me and Travis' heavy hooks as the camera batery went dead :(

Heres a couple pics I snapped

Looks good Andrew. But some constructive criticism.. I can't stand music mixed into youtube vid! :finger:  It might just be me, but I prefer to listen to the music of the motors spooling, then screaming down the track. Almost like a douche bag announcer that's still talking or telling jokes as the truck is going down the track   :yuck: .

I tell ya, you guys in Iowa and Nebraska sure have the 1st gen's pulling! Around here we don't see them that much if at all, gas or diesel. Looking good.

We all ran so well last night, I couldn't believe it. FWIW, we were dangerously close to the winner of the 2010 2.6 class at Platte City, MO, 9 feet ain't much. Cummins VE vs. dual CP3 duramax 3.0 bushed down to 2.6, this is the second time I have ran against him, and I got some long looks last night after 8300 street modified. Nobody laughs at us anymore when we pull in with first gens, I look in there eyes and can read it... crap, there here.

Special thanks to Dan Meier, who kept us going with wood fired gourmet burgers and such. He also pulled "stock diesel" and filmed too. Dan didn't win the stock diesel class this year but, will always be the Cheatin SOB

Time to clean up the mess and start getting ready for the next one

I completly agree with ya Bill, If I was smart enought to turn down the background music I would.

Yep gotta thank Dan and his old lady for the video and very tasty burgers. I think dan was right up there in the top 5 or 6 though.

I'll have more videos up today hopefully, I know I'm feeling a little rough today

A few years back at the lobster boat races they had the music so loud it was driving people away. When the guy left the mixing board unattended it did not take me long to find the knob for the music. Every one cheered when I turned down the music. They guy came back mad as hell. I told him if he turned it up again the mixing board would be thrown in the drink.

That was one of those things you say when your young and don't have fear of getting your teeth knocked out. I have since learned to think before I speak. Most times it works. I kinda like my stock grill as is.
