Made another hook tonight

Postby pulltilbroke » Fri Aug 06, 2010 12:45 am

Well I made another hook.

People look at you funny when you drive your truck to a pull and load the rack and throw the suspension stops in then place in a Mod class and drive it home, then they really got a funny look when you tell em its a stock injectored little turbo VE truck :D

Wasn't a great night but I still went home with a check and a trophy.

First off I was running late to get to the pull so I called a good pulling buddy of mine and had him sign me in but he signed me up for the wrong class. This was the first time I have went to this pull as its on a week night.

Second this track is real real short at 230ft so the set the sled super heavy, it was the heaviest sled i have ever pulled. Pretty much as soon as I got the truck wound up going down the track the weight box is at the top and they slam the pan.

Third the clutch started slipping too, I'm not sure if it was cause the sled hit us so hard and fast or if its time to do somthing with it. There is another hook tomorow with some room to run, I might hook at to see what up.

Heres my hook of 188 and change.

Yeah, its has always hooked very well and I'm pretty sure thats why it pulls so good for as little power as I'm making.

Watch how fast the weight box tops out, I think they were also dropping the pan at 100ft

I just bring the R's up a bit then start easing out on the clutch and when we start rolling out I let the clutch loose and lay the loud pedal on the floor.

I got another video from last night but its less than impressive. Clutch is done, lots of sparks, trannys coming out this week.

Just got home from Falls City NE, It was an adventure. Finished off the clutch in my truck, ripped all the wires out of the trailer plug and had a blowout on the trailer, all of this 100 or so miles from home at 2 am

Fun Fun.

I'm goin to bed vids will be up tomorow.

I had chevys slip like. It was due to an oiled clutch though, not having to much power.

Yeah they are kinda pretty aren't they Pete

I wouldn't say I have to much power Richie, That was the 13th hook on that little single disc, I also did lots of 3rd gear launches on the street with it.

I have a 650 hp clutch in my truck, and I was specifically told "no 3rd gear boosted launches!". Not that I do, but obviously there are some things they won't take!
