Indy cummins head

Postby Remps » Wed Oct 13, 2010 11:22 pm

I looked up Indy cylinder head, and seen that they have a cummins head. http://www.indyheads.com/cummins.html I wonder how an alloy head would stand up? How big are the stock valves?

Don't worry about it :D

No First Gen guy would ever shell out the cash for one!

After reading 100's of stories about Indy's horrible (i mean the worst) customer service, i would never buy anything from them. Just my opinion.

heres another site im on, and this isnt the only thread on that site about them that makes it 10 pages or more.

http://www.yellowbullet.com/forum/showt ... p?t=125761

i dont have anything against them personally (besides they seem to buy out the little guys just to use their names) but id rather be warned than find out the hard way.

A good friend of mine bought a set of Indy heads for his AMC, they are the worst casting I have ever seen. Porting them gave them vacuum leaks and holes, it was a mild clean up job NOT a max effort port job. He sent the first set back got another set ported and had the same problem, finally he ended up porting then weld then port then weld some more. After the lack of support he got from them and their I dont really care about one set of heads, I would never buy anything from them.

I'm not worried :D

As for the Indy head, look for an article on it in DP mag in the next few months. I still maintain that most First Gen guys can't afford it

I agree...that's why my truck still has a 727 instead of a billet shaft 47re with a pcs controller. Most First Gen guys are hard working dudes that are stuck to a limited budget, and are always willing to help each other out.
