4X4 front sagging springs

The other day I removed the front springs from my truck and took them down to have them re arched and a add a leaf installed.

Spring are back on and it gave me a good 2.5" to 3" lift sitting on the wheels . Sits level again. Very happy with Gettsprings and their crew. They took real good care of me. Also spoke to them about lifting the 5ver about 1 more inch they will build me some sprong blocks for the lift and new u bolts for around $60.00. Not bad I priced just the blocks for $40.00 at other places U bolts arn't cheap eather. I need new shocks now in the front kinda stretching the old ones a bit, Stearing wheel is turned to the left a little will fix that after a day or two of driving. That should get things settled in. Now the tires look small on the truck if aint one thing it's another. Oh well its only money .

How is the ride with the extra lift? I have a Skyjacker softride lift in mine and it rides much softer, but I am afraid I have traded some load capacity for comfort.

Skyjacker soft ride quote 2000 $ plus in calgary Needless to say i was kinda stunned.This Quote was from a specilty shop that mostly does lift kits and they said 10 hours to install. They said the whole kit would cost around 1500$ and the rest would be for install. The kit price seems a bit high to me.

I priced a set of skyjacker 2" for my truck a month ago. For two front springs I was told $500.

The price you were quoted most likely was for a complete kit. Front and rear springs.

My price came from a local speed shop. I don't need the rear springs and all the other itemes they throw in a kit. One thing to watch is skyjacker is bad about sending springs for our truck with 1/2" spring eye bolts. The later intercooled trucks run 5/8's spring eye bolts. Most of the time skyjacker will not correct their problem.

Make sure of your bolt size before you order. Then do not accept them if they are wrong.

Very good to know abot the bolt holes Yes it was front and rear plus there was a few other things they said the would put on . still by the time it is installed it will cost 2300 bucks . I dont know if i can do this install by my self never done one on a truck with the cummins in it done know it i can find heavy enough jacks

I've been talking to Don Thuren (thurenfabrication, the guy that makes the 2nd/3rd gen track bars and all kinds of other good suspension stuff) about leaf packs for my truck.
he very highly recommended Pohl Springs (www.pohlsprings.com) and thought I'd probably want to use about 8 .31-.375" thick springs for a little softer rate...no idea how much they cost but he did mention he's been looking for a reliable leaf source for a while and that these guys were good.

I've been pretty happy with the 6" springs Alcan springs made for me. They ride a little bit better than the 4" skyjackers I put on my last one. Both seem to carry the Cummins around with no problem. If you're looking for ride quality, you might want to look at a shackle flip for the rear. It won't tow as well, but will ride a little smother.

The spring set that was made for Falcon was pretty cool. They add one leaf under the top leaf. This leaf spring extend all the way out past the top one.
This gives the top leaf spring added support to keep it from saging.

I have had the same set up now for 3 years and the truck has settled down no more then about a 1/4".

They do nice work.
