2WD To 4WD Conversion..

Postby 1990 » Sun Jul 03, 2011 5:16 pm

Picked this beauty up last week. Lots of work. 1993 W250 LE

Anyone know where to get a cab and front clip for a decent price somewhat close to the Ontario border?

I'm still not sure whether i'm going to convert my 2wd or fix up this thing.

I can't believe how hard it is to get parts for the D60 (source them locally). Looks like i'm buying everything online. Should of just did that last week would of had everything by now.

Dealer prices a through the roof $335 for a outer axle stub.

Picked up a steering arm from WFO concepts too.

I tried to get new kingpin bearing plates for the bottom of my d60, I think they were like 400$ for a pair...I bought another axle for 300$

Looks like you have been busy. Are you changing out the engine crossmember as well?

I decided against changing the engine cross member. Just way more extra work, then i was willing to do.

Last night i got the hanger brackets bolted on.

Yeah I think I'd just use a 4" grinder with a cut off wheel and a recipricating saw to cut the pieces off. What's the distance between spring perches? Just wondering if you measured it.
