Today was the diesel weekend at our 1/8 th mile track. I got 2nd this time. I broke out by .03 seconds so I frigged myself. The run before I had a 9.42 dial in, ran a 9.51 and within 5 minutes we went for the final round. I changed my dial in to 9.47 because the guy I was racing was pretty good at the tree and making runs. Anyway, for some reason I ran a 9.445 right after I had made the slower pass.
I had been getting a little slower as the day heated up. I started making passes at 8:30 and as the heat came on I kept getting slower. I went from 9.38 to 9.41, to 9.44 all the way up to 9.51 a few runs. I thought I had a total handle on it, but bit myself in the butt. Anyway, very happy just the same. I have done drag racing twice now and got a 1st in 2009, and a 2nd today. Its pretty fun. I even did a 2 wheel drive pass in my final practice lap. I spun over 600 feet posi and then let off.
