If I don't buy the parts through either my own buisness or online, I go to NAPA. The guys at my napa have been there since I was a kid and will find me things that I didn't think they would be able to get. Autozone on the other hand is absolutly worthless. I can't tell you how many times I've gotten into heated arguments with the fat women behind the counter that doesn't know anything.

For hard parts, I like O'Reillys lifetime warranty. Come in with broken part, tell them your phone #, walk away with new one.

For electronic crap, Autozone.

Service, Napa.

I have all 3 within 2 miles of my house.

O'Reilly used to be my exclusive place. I knew the guys well and they ALL had projects they were working on. They knew their chit. Never argued when I asked for a 88 Chevy 1 ton brake cylinder or a headgasket for an old 164 CI Continental engine. When they couldn't find the head gasket in the computer, they pulled EVERY book in the place to find it. It was in the last book they pulled too.

Something happened there. 1 guy transferred, 3 quit. They were all old Napa guys too.

Now I go in and have to tell them year make model engine trans 2x or 4x yada yada yada. The old guys most of the time only used the computer to ring it up. Man, I miss them...

They knew me well and I took care of them. Even caught a new guy red handed stealing.

I went in to napa to get oil for my transfercase for my GMC and I asked them to lookup how much oil it takes to change it. They asked me everything about the truck even if it was 4x4 or 2x4 and even the color which I asked why that mattered. I never have been back there.
I always go to auto value because the manager work at a dodge dealer for 20yrs so he knows what he is talking about.

Most of my new replacement parts come from my local Carquest parts store which is 2 miles away. I order a fair amount of stuff from rockauto.com Advanced Auto and Autozone are 12 miles away. I usually get the odd stuff that I need such as Holley parts, relays, or other electrical parts there. Then the balance when available from the local Dodge parts store dealership. My used auto parts store for items that are normally unobtainable locally have been found here on this forum. Five of our best priced local wrecking yards have gone out of business due to the owners ages, deaths, or the unavailability to purchase wrecks at reasonable prices due to the internationalization of online auctions. That's in itself another story of it's own.

Find one that has a someone with a brain behind the counter. One of our local parts places used to be a Napa, but switched to Auto Value recently. I still buy most of my parts there because of the guy who owns and runs the place. :D
