Update: The 727 is out and we ran into the first problem, but it isn't major. I think. lol
The output shaft of the 47RH is splined and from what i'm told, the 2nd gen yoke just slides in and the carrier bearing and rear U-joint keep it from sliding out. The 727 appears to have the yoke bolted to the output shaft, like the yoke is on the rear differential.
Just thinking out loud here (i would like a confirmation from some one that knows more than me
), if i got the 2nd gen yoke, then i'd be good. I bet i'd end up needing the whole U-joint unless Dodge was kind enough to use the same U-joint, but different yokes throughout the years.
Unfortunately for me, most people have 4x4's or 518's and there is little 2wd-727 to 2wd-47RH specific info out there
