Possible problem?

Postby JustinRhodes » Thu Nov 03, 2011 5:33 pm

If i am WOT and i let out too quickly the truck will run rough, and sometimes die requiring me to crack the injector lines and bleed it then it will start back up. I never had this problem until i upgraded my turbo. Is there something i can do to correct this?

Let out slower. Common problem with high boost.

Most of the time its guys with twins that have that problem. I never have with any of my 3 and I have one around 48 psi of boost with no issues. I have a S300G a 62/71/14 HTT and a 60mm GDS H1C. I always jump off the fuel hard too. 8)

mine is only at 45 psi. id say i have high drive pressure though too so i would guess it has something to do with that aswell.

My truck never did this before, even pushing right up to 45psi with the single. Now I'm at 50psi with twins and if I let out too fast it'll die.

Justin, we've got a leg up on these auto guys. If it dies, just drop it in 5th and let it turn itself over as you roll. I've done it about 4 times now, it'll restart after a few seconds. 8)

 if it starts to run rough for me i just floor mat it and it will come back to life but if you let off the pedal too quickly theres no saving it. ill have to try to remember to throw it in 5th next time i kill it, sure beats cracking a few injector lines. i dont mind so much about cracking the injector lines but going from the whatever egt i was at to it shutting down without letting that turbo cool down is what i hate.

So it would seem that a clean, pop-pressure-set injector would not suffer this issue. Not likely that I'll ever have this issue though...way too far down the performance scale.
cheers,

It will also get worse with bigger injectors. There's that much more surface area that the air can come back into.

And theres no injector or tip that can prevent this from happening?
