Poor embarrased powerstroker

Postby 1arock » Sun Nov 13, 2011 2:44 pm

Yesterday the wife and I went to MFA to pick up some feed (1000lbs) in the dodge pile. As we pulled out on the 4 lane a F350 stroker came blasting by laying down a pretty impressive (obviously to him anyway) smoke cloud. I didn't think too much about it at the time until he pulled up next to me at a red light. I asked wifie if she thought I should drag race this guy since he was sitting there stinking up the ozone with his edge, airwerks, K@N,...equpped big lift, big rubber, obviously bad-to-the-bone superduty, racing his engine and lurching forward. She said it was my drivers liscense do what ever I thought was necessary ( in wife speak I took that as a yes). When the light changed I didn't look over when I saw movement to my left I cut the pile loose when it shifted into second I looked in the mirror and saw mr. stroker was trying real hard to stay in view so I lifted when we hit 50 mph he was a good 2 or 3 truck lengths back and not getting any closer. When the looser came by his passengers appeared to really be giving mr. super stroker a real hard time and they all gave me the thumbs up. Another older feller in a half ton dodge also came by and also gave me thumbs up. The little woman and I were both grinning from ear to ear all the way home. Rocky

Sounds like my neighbor. I walked his Stroker and he won't even look at me now.

I refuse to speak ill of Power Strokes, but i'm all for showing off the performance potential of our 12v's. It seems that i too am most tempted to race when towing or hauling. The look on the flat biller's face at the next light is priceless after you beat them in a truck older than they (and me) are

^ WRONG.... there is no definite way to know if he did the correct thing. If he lost the race, or say, popped a headgasket. the Wife would have been unhappy. yet in his case the old dodge did well and she was happy. Wifespeak has many translations

Yes, wifespeak could have many translations, luckily this time I didn't tear my stuff up and the 1000lbs probably just kept me from blowing the tires off. Had it have gone really bad I'm sure I'd be hearing how dumb and childish a so and so I was but, thankfully this time it held together. It's part of being together 30+ years all the bad ideas are mine and when something goes good the credit is her's. Rocky

I havn't done much street racing since the 70's,I can see however that the Dodge pile is a potental sleeper to deal with the "flat billed, big smoke,my daddy bought me this cool truck" kinda guys. I am now on the hunt another possible victum. I hope I'm not turning into a serial bubble buster ;) .Rocky.... A friend just stopped by with the January issue of Diesel World Mag and there is a couple pictures the Dodge pile on page 39 as a lead up to next months issue.Rocky

I got quite the looks from the annual Diesel Blackout drag up at my local strip when I rolled in with my old pile. I was running 16.7 going easy on everything. Then I switch out the stock fuel cone for the DennyT 1, even with the same boost, launching harder, and making the shifter eat 3rd gear, I ran a best of 15.9xx. I got some respect from the 2wd 3rd Gen 6.7L that was running 15.5's. He tried launching as hard as me but with no slicks, he sat and burned the rear tires off.

It's getting to the point that, more often than not, I can't get anybody to pull up beside me at the local T&T. What's up with that?

Drag racing is at lot like shooting pool or throwing darts, lots of people can do it,nobody wants to loose. Maybe you are considered a "Shark" . BC847...drag racing shark...drag racing hustler...with the ET and speed in your sig it don't really matter what they call you as long as it ends with "sir" ;) Rocky
