1966 Ford F600 4x4!!!

Postby collegekid » Tue Nov 22, 2011 5:02 pm

Just bought a 1966 Ford F600 4x4 with the ford 460 carb engine and dump bed on the back....this thing is stout.....Im thinking of doing a CTD swap, shorten the driveline and put a regular bed on the back and black it out

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

That would be sweet with a cummins, i worked a second job 20 years ago for a farmer and he had
a twin to that, i had to fix it after he ran into the door with a combine,
it was a mess, but the metal is thick enough to weld so i was able to get-r-done

pretty good old trucks.

I have my grandfathers 1953 F-600 with the flathead V-8 that I learned to drive on. I'd like to get it fixed and put in a 1st gen 5.9 and a 5 speed. I think it would be awesome. I just wish I had the time and money because it's starting to rot away. :( I keep thinking of selling it, and then I hear Alan Jacksons "Drive" and just can't do it.

My step dad has a 75ish f600 and a 65 f700 ( or vice versa). One has a 371; older one has a 352. Both get 5 MPG. I keep telling him a 12v with higher gears will pay for the parts in under a year..... I think it'd be an awesome combo.
