Pump Raining Fuel

Postby whereswaldo250 » Wed Oct 24, 2007 7:30 pm

Well, I went to start my truck yesterday and I left it idle to warm up like any diesel person would and I come back to leave and there is something dripping from underneath the truck. It turns out it was fuel and I popped the hood and the IP was leaking from the back side (side closest to block). I am on my knees because it just happened out of know where. Do you think some seals went bad from the ULSD? I am stuck and I do not know what to do

Thanks

It's probably just a seal; most people nowadays blame seals on ULSD.

How hard it is to change the seal depends on where exactly it's leaking out of the pump.
A seal kit for the VE pump is Bosch part number DGK-121 and costs $20.

Try to look at the back. There is a cover there on the opposite side from the KSB. If thats leaking, you have to pull the pump. (what i've heard)

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.
