Thanks, Biltit. I was thinking more along the lines of something I could cobble up myself, but it's good to know there's something made for it if I can't pull it off.

You guys win, by the way. There's no freaking way I can get the pan gasket scraped off with the trans hooked up, and I'd have to pull the pickup with the pan if I left the engine in, so out it comes.

I feel like I've lost a battle against the truck.

That's too much fockin work! If I have to do it I will, but I'll spend twice as long to not have to pull the engine. Of course, then I'll have to anyways, it's Murhys Law! (I think he lives in my spare room!)

You ain't kidding. I did everything I could to keep it in there, but there's no way I was going to be able to scrape the oil pan gasket with it in the truck.

Oh well, since it's out, anyone got any color suggestions? I was going to just clean it and throw it back in, but if I can find one I like I'll throw it on there. It can't be Cummins Beige, since it's actually a Cummins it's not that funny. (I painted my old Carb'd 2.0 Ranger block Cummins Beige)

Since it's a white truck it's kinda tough to think of a color that would look right when you opened the hood. I also don't want any bright colors on the truck, so the red that new Cummins are is out and I want something I can spot leaks on easily so no black.

I'm thinking maybe the bluish-green color they painted all the old Detroits?

Is that like the Richard Petty blue? If so, that's too bright for me.

Blue and red are over played. Monster soft drink green/black, yellow/black, purple/silver have all gone through my head. Polished valve covers, polished charge pipes...

Quoted for relevance. ;)

I won't even paint my freaking intake pipes, so there's absolutely no way anything under my hood will be polished. Just looking for a normal, dull color that won't look out of place when you open a white hood and it's sitting between 2 white inner fenders.

Chevy Orange or Ford Blue

AMC motors sported a color that you'd like. Similar to the Detroit color.

DD greenish: Image

Mopar blue: Image

I'm feeling that DD green, it's just so damn ugly.

Maybe DD green with black valve covers?
