Steedspeed manifold

Postby Remps » Sat Feb 25, 2012 4:54 pm

Steed speed says to specify whether you want rectangular or round ports on their T3 wastegated manifold. Im assuming the rectangular ones flow more, but which ones should I go with? Does the factory manifold have round or rectangular ports? Which one would line up best with a hamilton head? It'll be pushing exhaust through 3 turbos, 5x18 injectors, eventually gonna get a 188/220 and maybe a head from hamilton as well. For now though, I am just going to get headstuds and run the old head till I can upgrade. This is going on the 1990.

Rectangle= 12v
Round = 24v, Cr

Since Hamiltons head is a 12v by design, you want rectangle.

Thanks. These are the turbos that I have been eyeballing: http://www.precisionturbo.net/Street-and-Race/ss/600-800HP/details/Street-and-Race-Turbocharger---PT6266-CEA/479 With the ball bearing option, ported compressor cover, and T3 .82 AR with 3" V-band outlet. Would also be using an external wastegate. I may just do the cam, head, and manifold to start with, haven't decided yet.

No pee pump swap or lottery, but I'm gonna have 5-6K that I was thinking of putting toward buying another truck, or dump it into this old beast. Still looking for a truck as well, but if one doesn't come along, well, it's getting spent one way or another lol. I still have a month to decide.

I think I'd just spend the money on a ported and polished stock head over the Hamilton until more real world data is out there.

Well, real world is just starting to get out.

The guy who owns the Lil' Red Express says overall boost is down (75ish psi down to 55-60 I believe) and spool-up is lowered. There are a couple more like Lostnwalmart who is spooling an S400 like a S300.

Those are the only 2 that I know of that have reported anything.
