you can make them seal but you need to do some mods first, at least on a chevy.
before instaling them put them in a vice and get the biggest bastard file you can,
draw file the head surface untill very flat, then take a cutoff tool or hacksaw and
cut loose the front and rear tubes from the center two, use the waffle metal manifold
gaskets. you will not have any more problems on the head.
then on the colector, cut off the flare and remove the stupid dingly triangle the factory
uses, make 4 (2 matching sets) of 4 hole flanges 1/2 inch thick with a 3 inch hole in the middle,
weld one on the header and one on your exaust, if (and i never did) you need a gasket
at that joint you can use high temp gasket material and you will be done messin
with it.
i had a set last 16 years without a leak.
