Lucas cav pump???

Postby GO OVRIT » Thu Oct 10, 2013 3:17 pm

I'm looking at getting a different boat with a pair of 5.9 250hp engines. They're 1988 models, and have Lucas cav injection pumps. Does anybody here know much about them? I'm wondering if the injectors have the same pop pressure as the ve. Also wondering about any power adjustments. Any info would be cool. Thanks, Mike

I may be wrong but I did a bit of research on them, and from what I've read they don't have much potential for power gains and there are some issues with them breaking I think. The good news is a ve will swap without modification except for injection lines (extenders being needed). Of course this information is from 4bt forums so there may be some differences to the 6bt's
