The turbo will just flow more air = lower EGT. Boost comes from fuel.

The 6 blade upgrade will move more air. Boost, as Ace said, will depend on your fueling level. Some of the guys who have ran the compressor upgrades would have more info for you.

According to Cummins, you can run 1200* all day long with no harm done.

It looks like you are already maxed out for available fuel, so probably not worth it. If you can get more fuel somewhere - the fuel screw, throttle travel or delivery system (lift pump, etc. ) maybe.

I can get pretty hot (saw 1300 and climbing once) with my current setup including a Powerstroke I/C and the 60mm hybrid upgrade. I suspect you either have more fuel hiding somewhere, injection pump getting tired, or possibly lack of delivery.

Or, he has a well tuned engine. Mine tops out at 1200EGT, and will keep up with most of the newer ones.

I'm at the "stayed at a Holiday inn" level of knowledge here so i only speak from my own experience. I did an upgrade to a 58mm compressor wheel from a 50mm. Before the upgrade my extra fuel turned to heat, after the air increase (also opened up the crossover and exhaust pipes) more power less top egt's.

The "well tuned" point is a good one. Every time I make a change it screws up the deal until I study up from the smart folks and move up to a better running more powerful deal.

I just added an I/C and now I have to get back the the fuel air balance. Smoke at start up and slower spool up to cure. Need to get to "well tuned"

I would check real carefully for boost leaks and go over everything to make sure nothing's out of place. Just installing an I/C should not have that effect.

Mine outruns most of the newer ones - "if" I can get it into 3rd gear quick enough. 8)

Joe, how many feet of pipe did you have to add to reach the I/C?
pete

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

hey, Pete. glad to see your are back on the active list.

Might be 3 feet total more than a Dodge would have. The freightliner engine to Rad space is greater and plus from the I/C back. No doubt the distance slows the boost spool up. seems to top out the boost about the same.

I had planned to take it for a test ride out west( Diesel in OK not much more than Gas), but found a broken shock hanger the day I had to leave and made it a car trip. The little bit the weather warmed has reduced the smoke a lot.

Yup, back up to snuff! ;)
Joe, that was my thought, the extra length affecting the spool.

True, hard to beat the short crossover pipe for quick response. maybe for nonI/C the right watermeth setup would have been a better choice than the I/C.
Have to take a ride out to Turningstone to get a good feel for how it works.
