installing ip problem

Postby revemup15 » Mon Aug 13, 2012 6:30 am

Ive took ips off and one quite a few times.... well yesterday i fought then damn thing for hours.... when i stick the ip on i can only get a couple threads in screwing the nut on and i tightin it more and more getting harder each time ... i knew somthing was wrong so i take it off and the keyway is all chewed up... so I put another keyway on.... same problem... so i thought since i was installing a different ip maybe something was different... put old one on slid right on like normal.... now tried the new one.... nothin... i know the keyway is getting 1/4 or 1/2 wayin in the gear..now i cant get either one on... ive took off and installed ips a dozen times and never had a problem they have always slid right on... has anyone else has had this problem?
