ip leak

Postby GeneralC » Sat Feb 20, 2010 8:28 pm

Guys i have a buddy with a 92 automatic and hes got a leak comin out of a tube that looks like a overflow on the right side of the afc. its a black rubber piece. i have a 91 and have never saw a piece like this. he just had a bully dog pinned installed and it started leakin as soon as it was installed. he had the guy who installed it take it back out and put the stock pin back in but it still leaks. my guess was maybe the diaphram was installed upside down ? im probably wrong but im not sure what that piece is on the ve. any ideas guys ? thanks

Its common for the afc to leak after a deeper fuel pin goes in. It causes the small pin that rides on it to come out further and sometimes that will make it develope a leak. The pump will need to come apart and get a new O ring seal.

if you follow the steps in the govenor spring replacement posts that is what you need to to. you have to remove the top half of the pump. then have to drive out the retaining steel balls that hold the afc levers pin in. i will find some threads on this
