yeah i have thought about buyin one of their machines but we dont have the volume to justify it either, best part about doing the covers with the cnc was that i cut all of the holes in about 1hour, clamp a blank in the chuck press go, drill six holes and its done, clean easy accurate ... the only point of the cnc...
the school is upgrading there whole Beginners welding milling/sheetmetal lab and throwing out all that "junk" (including the 30 year teacher who has more experience than all of the faculty combined

) and hiring some computer geek to teach freshmen how to operate the 20 new machines (25grand a piece!!)
lots of people are mad about the school ousting the old technology but then again no one in industry is using leather belt lathes any more...oh well
I did post a video in the original thread of the cnc cutting the holes for one cover, but thats was a while ago
the conversaion with the Lab boss when he found out i was selling them was interesting, I did work in the lab so all he said was make sure to keep it low key, but you could tell he was nervous that it would get out. something called a "no-competition clause"
someday ill make another batch and advertise them really well
