Aftermarket lift pumps

Postby revemup15 » Wed Feb 08, 2012 6:54 pm

Hey guys just curious what lift pumps y'all are using.... my plan is around 400-450hp.... I was going to go with a low pressure piston pump on eBay but I just read that they can only take around 300hp... any opinions would be appericated also.... thanks in advance

If you want to stay mechanical you can run the P-pump LP with a boost-reference reguator, but after that mechanical stuff gets pricey. It should be able to support 400hp fairly easily.

:edit: From what I've gathered in the last few minutes, the P-pump LP runs out of steam at around 500 horse on a P-pump truck.

Upgrade the lines to 1/2" and 600 is the top of the limit.

I typed out a confirmation to this I thought, must have forgot to hit reply.

Yes, the factory P-pump LP is generally known around these parts as the HPLP.

Ron A made 1200 something horses on a piston pump, he forgot to flip the switch for the electric pump to kick in.
